Catherine A. Ricca - Attorney
Catherine Ricca has defended employers in a variety of matters, including against allegations of discrimination based on gender, race, national origin, religion, and disability. Ms. Ricca's work has involved claims of sexual harassment, reverse discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and negligent hiring and supervision. She is familiar with the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Colorado Wage Claim Act. She has also advised employers on personnel policies and employee handbooks.
Ms. Ricca also has experience with insurance law, having defended and advised insurance carriers in coverage matters, including litigation of alleged insurance bad faith and alleged violations of the Colorado Consumer Protection Act. In addition, she has defended cases involving allegations of improper claims handling and has opposed class-certification motions brought by insureds.
Experienced in other areas of law as well, Ms. Ricca has represented manufacturers of prescription medications, medical devices, and household products; and has represented corporations in commercial contract and franchise disputes. Before joining Miletich Pearl LLC's predecessor firm in 2003, Ms. Ricca practiced with a large, international, full-service law firm in Chicago, and with a litigation firm in Denver.
